Abstract

Artificial insemination is one of the most important modern medical methods used to treat infertility and enable procreation. Algerian legislation regulates it within a legal framework that takes account of Islamic law, family protection, and the preservation of lineage. For the procedure to be lawful, it must take place between spouses while the marriage remains valid. It must use the husband's sperm and the wife's ovum, without the involvement of any third party in the reproductive process. This legal framework seeks to balance the benefits of medical progress with the legal and religious rules governing marriage and lineage.
